Whoa, hey, the Democrats lied.

Time to do something that's a little rare around here and call BS on a lie being spread by the Democrats. Straight from Kerry's campaign coordinator, Mary-Beth Cahill:

"George Bush is taking away the right to overtime pay from up to 6 million Americans, including nurses, cooks, clerical workers, and nursery school teachers."

What's really going on here is the whining of special interests - specifically, everyone's favorite bunch of friendly economic anomalies, the labor unions. The AFL/CIO is pushing very hard (by way of Democrats in the House) for an amendment to a Labor and Health and Human Services and Education appropriations bill that would prevent the Department of Labor from ever removing any overtime regulations put in place. Bush vetoed the bill for having that amendment - but with no law in place, the DoL still has the ability to expand overtime protection. And in some cases (such as health care), that's actually what they're doing. Overtime protection for nurses is currently being set in stone.

So don't think that Democrats are immune to the random BS check. Because it happens, and they most definitely get caught too.
